The set of logos for Mill Street Melts were designed to be site specific for a franchise of quick panini shops. The original location, set on Mill Street in Aspen Colorado was designed to have very limited eat-in options and to focus on carry out and quick service to suit the local skiers and tourists.

Because the restaurant is located in the main tourist shopping district in Aspen, CO, I chose a very traditional layout reminiscent of an old, western, country store which might have a sign on a shingle but with a hip, young feel. It can be reproduced in a small, hanging sign which would be found in any mountain town or printed on a T-Shirt.

The font that is a visual allusion to melting and the cheese that features largely in the Mill Street Melts menu. For a pallet, I chose the bright clashing and florescent pallets typical of hip, urban sportswear.

This store was designed as a franchise and to be installed in kiosks in shopping smalls and strip malls, I created a family of design options available for use at any location with ownable pallets by location.
